Keberanian Askar Melayu Diraja

Demi Maruah dan Taat Setia kepada Uniform  Pada 28 Februari 1942 (82 tahun dahulu ), seramai lapan orang pegawai Askar Melayu ditembak mati oleh tentera Jepun berhampiran Bedok Singapura bersama tahanan Perang lain. Selepas kejatuhan Singapura, Askar Melayu yang ditawan Dan ditahan di Farrer Park termasuk pegawai-pagawai Askar Melayu ini diarahkan supaya melucutkan pakaian seragam dan menyertai pasukan Jepun atau pulang ke kampung.  Meskipun dipujuk oleh tentera Jepun selama 10 hari termasuk dipujuk oleh Mustapha Hussain , lapan orang pegawai Askar Melayu ini bukan sahaja enggan menanggalkan pakaian seragam tentera tetapi juga pangkat dan lencana yang dipakai.  Selepas itu Kapten Aman Shah diberikan permit kebenaran untuk pulang ke Perak namun beliau menolak dan mengatakan bahawa beliau dan kesemua yang ditawan harus dilepaskan.
